One 3 mL lavender (EDTA) top tube.
1 mL whole blood at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.25 mL)
Specimen should be drawn 12 hours post-dose or just prior to next dose (trough sample).
Ambient: 24 hours; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 2 months
Clotted specimens - serum or plasma. Specimens left at room temperature for longer than 24 hours.
Serial specimen collections should be consistent with respect to the last medication dose, as well as to the time of day, to minimize intra-individual variability.
