Collect

One 5 mL plain red top tube, or lavender top (EDTA), or pink (K2EDTA) top tube.

Transport 1 mL serum at 2-8°C. (Min. 0.5 mL)
Remarks Patient Prep: Obtain trough specimen after steady-state is achieved (3-5 days). Draw within one hour prior to next dose. The epoxide half-life is 6-10 hours.
Stability

After separation from cells: Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 month.

Unacceptable Conditions

Whole blood, separate tubes, light blue (citrate) or yellow (SPS or ACD solution) top tubes.
