Collect | One 5 mL pre-warmed (37°C) gold (SST) top tube. Fasting specimens preferred. Maintain specimen at 37°C for clotting and transport. Deliver immediately to the laboratory. DO NOT CENTRIFUGE PRIOR TO TRANSPORT. Once in laboratory separate serum from cells using a 37°C centrifuge if possible. |
Transport | 3 mL serum at 37°C. (Min: 1.5 mL) |
Remarks | Fasting samples recommended. Do NOT refrigerate or freeze at any time. Proper collection and transport of specimen is critical to the outcome of the assay. |
Stability | Maintain at 37°C. Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Frozen: Unacceptable. |
