| Collect | Two 2 mL Greiner bright blue (sodium citrate) top tubes. |
| Transport | The specimen MUST arrive at the Operations Center within 3 hours of collection. DO NOT CENTRIFUGE the tubes. |
| Remarks | Draw 2 mL blood into each tube filled to the proper level (1 part anticoagulant to 9 parts blood) at 20-25ºC. Invert tubes 3-4 times to avoid clotting. DO NOT REFRIGERATE TUBE. |

| Unacceptable Conditions | Clotted, hemolyzed, collected in wrong tube, tubes less than 90% full, centrifuged, outside stability limits. |
