Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) and one 5 mL gold (SST) top tube. Serum specimen should be drawn within 48 hours of CSF collection.

Transport

1 mL CSF and 1 mL serum refrigerated. (Min: 0.4 mL CSF and 0.4 mL serum)

Stability Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 8 days; Frozen: 1 year (if frozen within 24 hours)
Unacceptable Conditions Grossly bloody or hemolyzed specimens.
