Syracuse City School District 9th Graders Visit Laboratory Alliance
August 19, 2016
Laboratory Alliance of Central New York is part of a collaborative partnership between the Syracuse City School District, Onondaga Community College and the Manufacturer's Association of Central New York to train high school students for careers in the healthcare industry. Titled Syracuse Pathways to Technology (P-TECH), the program was launched the week of Aug. 15 and on Friday, Aug. 19, the first Henninger High School students enrolled in the Clinical Lab Technology program visited Laboratory Alliance for the first time, toured the labs and learned first-hand what is involved in becoming a laboratorian.
The visit to the lab follows a week-long program to prepare students for high school and to begin their introduction to the Clinical Laboratory Technology (CLT) program, to introduce students to the world of work, a collegiate setting and transition students into lifelong learners personally, emotionally and academically.
