Dr. Graber has been affiliated with Laboratory Alliance since 2001, most recently as medical director of operations and histology medical advisor. He is employed by St. Joseph's Pathology, P.C. and is a staff pathologist at St. Joseph's Health. He practices anatomic pathology at Laboratory Alliance’s Rapid Response Laboratory at the hospital. Dr. Graber completed an internship in 1992 at Albany Medical College following his graduation from the college the previous year. He completed a research fellowship in molecular biology at the National Institutes of Health and the Medical University of South Carolina, followed by a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology and a hematopathology fellowship at Albany Medical Center Hospital in 2001. Dr. Graber is board-certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and hematopathology.

Brando Cobanov, MD

Dr. Cobanov is on the staff at St. Joseph’s Pathology, P.C., joining the practice in 2014 following work with a private pathology practice affiliated with a hospital system in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology as well as cytopathology. Dr. Cobanov earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California. From 2004 to 2008 he completed a four-year residency in pathology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, now part of Rutgers University, in New Jersey. He then did a one-year fellowship focusing on cancer pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. This was followed by a second fellowship in cytopathology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Matthew Elkins, MD/PhD serves as medical director of Laboratory Alliance's rapid response laboratory on the Community Campus. Dr. Elkins is the medical director of the Upstate University Hospital Blood Bank and the recently opened Upstate Cord Blood Bank. At UUH, he serves as medical director of Transfusion Medicine, director of Hemapheresis, assistant professor of pathology and associate residency program director of pathology. Dr. Elkins earned his doctorate and PhD at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008. He did his residency at University of Michigan in anatomic and clinical pathology in 2012 and his fellowship at the same university in the blood bank and transfusion medicine in 2013. He joined UUH in 2013.
